Yes, indeed.  AMQP uses SASL.  I'll see what options are available and
discuss them on this list before implementing them...

Oh, and BTW, we're also working on a new core OpenAMQ/2.0 which is
based on FastMQ's 0MQ and is ... fast.

OpenAMQ/2.0 will continue in the iMatix philosophy of "asynchronous
messages switches", lean and mean and easier to set-up and use than
OpenAMQ/1.2.  Initially we'll be looking at packaging it together with
OpenAMQ/1.2 as a high-performance extension for pubsub traffic.

We'll make an official announcement when there is product to download.
 You can see the performances we're aiming for on the www.zeromq.org
web site.  Throughputs of 0.5M messages/second and latencies of under
50usec.  WireAPI support, and later, federation and failover as in
OpenAMQ/1.2.  Should be fun.
