Did you set

CC=xlc_r
CCNAME=xlc_r

when building?

Maybe I didn't make it clear in the release notes, but if you look at
what I did in the 'c' script, it'll only work for MT builds on AIX if
you explicity set the above.

This is deliberate since I don't know what reasonable defaults are for
AIX - do people use GCC, or the IBM compilers, which should be
preferred, etc.
