   But here is something else you can do to help figure this out.
   Since we've established that icl_cond_broadcast is being called,
   can you see what's happening in the waiting thread (thread 1 I
   think)?  Is icl_cond_wait returning and smt_wait looping (SMT bug)
   or is it not returning at all (APR/pthread bug)?

It looks like icl_cond_wait does not return.
